About Devyn
Devyn Dais is a 24 year old black female painter and art educator from Bensalem, PA. She attended Tyler School of Art, and currently teaches in Philadelphia. She has a heart that longs to know God and to make Him known. She prays that her artwork would have a spiritual impact on those who view it.
In September 2021, Devyn began to create drawings with chalk pastels. These drawings depicted distorted and abstracted human-like beings. She then began to use oil pastels, and eventually moved on to oil paint. Lately, she has been working more with acrylic paint because she enjoys the exploration of mixed media, such as glitter, and to mix paint with other mediums to create unique textures.
Devyn’s work is inspired heavily by nature. In her free time, she can be found on walking or hiking trails, chasing waterfalls and the sunlight. Organic shapes, curves, and lines are seen throughout her work, as she seeks humanity’s connection to nature. Some of Devyn’s works include bugs, grass, or flowers, and most of the shapes in the figures include shapes that she has seen in trees and plants.
